smth about Steve's NEXT STEP...
FROM sucker-love.com
In March of this year sucker-love.com reported that Steve Hewitt was allegedly involved with a musical side project entitled Ancient B. However none of us anticipated that it would become a project in its own right, as sadly with his recent and shock departure from Placebo there is now nothing along side anymore.
According to online diary entries at JonThorne.co.uk, Steve Hewitt has been in talks with Jon Thorne, known best for his work in the band Lamb, as early as January 2007.
Interestingly the latest information from Thorne comes mere days after news was made public that Hewitt is parting with Placebo. It once again reinforces that the project is definitely still on the cards and seemingly more than just a casual possibility as sources had previously informed fans.
…The autumn brings recording projects with Robert Miles/Robert Fripp, and a long awaited project with Steve Hewitt from Placebo.
Though the Placebo press announcement cited part of the reason for Steve’s withdrawal as musical differences, it is unknown if this was in direct reference to Ancient B. It is also doubted that this would be his sole reason for departure as bassist Stefan Olsdal has openly discussed his own intentions for a side project, Hotel Persona, whilst remaining involved in Placebo. In March 2007 statements by Hewitt, made in a mexican interview with El Universal, projected that he’d be mixing Ancient B at this very time. Additionally it is understood that earlier in the year Placebo re-contracted with EMI under the Capitol Records umbrella, therefore it is speculated that Hewitt’s departure may have been known about in the Placebo camp for quite some time.

Re: smth about Steve's NEXT STEP...
if it's gonna be d'n'b I won't like it.. I'm not much of a fan of that genre.. damn.. I don't want to know anything else about his new project or whatever that is.. it makes me sad.. I'm still in denial he's not part of Placebo anymore..

Re: smth about Steve's NEXT STEP...
my mum used to say to me "perhaps he left because of his side project and will come back if it doesn't work"
i really hope she would be true on that one
and i agree D'N'B is... shit to me, that's all
you can't just do that shitty style after doing awesome rock for more that 10 years!
