i'm not defending brian or anything, he acted like a drama queen and if i were at the show and saw him walk of the stage i would probably hate him or be really sad, i don't know, but i read that they played like 12 songs before he left, i mean bitter end in usually played at the end of the show, before the encore, so the concert wasn't really all that short. it is still a shitty thing to do. but how knows what set him off so bad. apparently the band before them blew up the stage monitors or something. and brian is a perfectionist when it comes to how they sound on stage.
I hope for all of you that are going to see them this summer, that this won’t happen again and you’ll have great shows.

Btw, can anyone tell me the setlist of this gig?

To the amazing Portuguese fans who came out last night and unfortunately were disappointed because Brian had to cut short the set the band have issued the following apology.

APOLOGY TO PORTUGESE FANS

Placebo would like to apologise unreservedly to all the fans who attended the Creamfields festival in Lisbon last night (Friday 19th May). The set was cut short due to Brian losing his voice as an extreme reaction to the cold temperatures. He was literally unable to keep singing. The band left the stage for the encore but decided it was impossible to continue. "We sincerely apologise to all our fans at Creamfields. We understand that it must have seemed confusing as to what was going on and we are sorry we had to cut our set short. Nothing frustrates us more than having on stage problems. In this instance, the problems were simply Brian's voice. We hate to let our fans down but there was just nothing we could do. It's certainly not the way we'd hoped to kick off our European tour!"

I actually don't believe it entirely. But, fuck, if it's true and if he'll have lost his voice in Riga's gig.. FUCK!

When I firstly heard about it today I was really angry on him/ I've told many bad things about him, Katya knows. But now everything ok. Of course, I don't approve such behavior and think he should appologies, cause that's no fan's fault. They shouldn't suffer in such situation. Though we weren't there and don't know how it really was, so don't have any right to judge him right now

Though, I'm still respect him and hope to see him in 2 days. Hope, everything will be fine

I don’t know if a believe it. It sounds like they tried to give a really good reason for what happened, to calm the waters and gain sympathy from the fans. But it is true that he had bronchitis recently . Who knows. Besides them of course…
And, of course I hope it’s not entirely true, we wouldn’t want brian to have real problems with his voice . I prefer him to be a drama queen.
But at least they/the management / who ever, apologized.

EDIT: Well, apparently the message comes from one of the band members. Maybe it’s true. if it is, I hope brian will get well. *hugs*

I don't believe in this story about his voice. He could ask somebody to announce that he couldn't sing on if he couldnn't say it on his own. It's just a justification, not very believable. But I already forgave him If I were Brian, I would say something like this, that I was about to faint or vomit etc.

He sang The Bitter End too low. Maybe he didnt like the way he sounds when losing his breath at the end of every lyric

It really seems that he's sick. But I think someone could have explained it to the audience immediately so they wouldn't have been that disappointed like they was after that "drama queen show".

The arranger of the gig says in estonian local magazine that Placebo wishes for:

Food: (brian has his own menu)
1) muesli
2) fried chicken
3) pickles
4) raw carrots
5) 10 tomatos (why 10, i don't know.)
6) all kinds of fruits but there must be no oranges.
7) also there must be no cheese or chocolate in the menu.

In their dressing room there must be:
1) 3 boxes of beer
2) 3 red wines (must cost more than 40€)
3) 3 bottles of white wine
4) 4 bottles of Absolute Vodka
5) 1 bottle of Remy Martini

Other wishes:
1) to smoke anywhere they want, despite the local laws.
2) 3 blocks of Marlboro Lights.
