Does that song indicate that Brian or Stef has a cat, or "they" have a cat?

I think it's the photo that indicates that they had a cat in the studio But the studio belonged to David Botrill so maybe it was his cat. It would be great though if Brian or Stef have a cat at home in London but I guess they are too busy to look after it

then the cat kinda inspired them to write a song... a song dedicated to little kitty! wow that's sentimental.

I think they both have some traits that belong to cat people . Maybe they had a cat during the Ashtray heart period.

I didn't know Stefan also writes lyrics

I sent a message to a girl who speaks Spanish better than me to help me. But she can answer in a week or later Yes, I thought Brian always wrote lyrics. It's the first time I read that Stef can write lyrics too, I feel slightly shocked because even in the HP songs the lyrics was written by another guy, not Stefan.

In a nutshell, as far as I understand, bionics say they have some news from Stef (they are in touch with him)

1. Battle for the sun is not a single, the first (?) single will be out after the release of the album and it explains the duration of BFTS which is a gift for fans

2. In this album Stef has wrote complete songs, lyrics and everything

3. Probably there will be a concert of presentation (of the album) in London in the middle of May

They also say they were lucky to hear a song Stef wrote entirely and it can be out as a single. It's rockish. Placebo are satisfied with the new album and with the new drummer who is a good musician and gives them a lot of positive energy.

^ At first glance, it read like Brian contributed nothing to the new album, which really shocked me...gradually I realized that it actually means Stef had written a song on his own, including lyrics...right?

I cant imgaine Stef got everything done while Brian came up with nothing...that would be horrible, hmmm, what a thrilling picture, I'm scared.

BTW, i got a question, if Battle For The Sun is not the first single of the album, why did they choose it for the radio show? I didnt get the point.

I hope that the song "Speaking In Tongues" has nothing to do with the track by Eagles Of Death Metal. They have one with the same title, but it's hilarious.

No, they say canciones i.e. songs, that means on the album there will be more than one song written totally by Stef. But I remember some time ago Placebo said that all the songs for the album were written by Brian and Stef during the Meds tour so there will be definitely songs completely made by Brian too

I can't understand the BFTS thingie too. Rumours about the fact this song is not a single exist on the net for a week already. Initially a guy from the Australian radio said it. He said it was not a single because it could be downloaded for free or something. Though maybe they just mean Placebo won't put it out on a 'single' CD (i.e. on a material object with remixes, demos, b-sides and other pieces singles usually contain)

I consider the download part a way of promotion, just like Radiohead & NIN did. It will attract more people to notice the new album...admittedly it's a lil bit weird.

And for the composing work, i remember Brian said in the radio interview something like "it maybe one of the best songs i and stef wrote"...another fact is, he almost wrote everything in the debut. So, ease up, he'd never lose interests in music.

Yes, I hope Brian will go on because the best songs were written by him Though anyway it will be curious to hear Stef's works too

at first i thought well that's a wonderful explanation for BFTS's lyrics, it's not the style he used to adopt. I hope the rest of the album will be better.

But it would be weird if that "My killer my lover" was actually written by Stef...

Placebo have revealed the tracklisting of new album 'Battle For The Sun' to NME.COM.
As previously reported, the band are releasing their sixth album independently on June 8.
Now, frontman Brian Molko has explained the thinking behind the collection, as well as the tracklisting.
Molko said: "I believe 'Battle' to be the first of our albums to tell a story over the course of its 52 minutes. Our previous releases were really only collections of songs and even though the songs are ordered according to the musical flow, I hope that if you listen hard enough to the words that some kind of discernible thematic unity will begin to emerge."

I like the titles of 'The Never-Ending Why' and 'Breathe Underwater' Don't like 'Happy You're Gone' too. Reminds me of 'I'm fine without you' by Hinder, teenage rock
